Biography

Dr. Amy Drahota is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Michigan State University. She completed her PhD in Psychological Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2008. Her research primarily focuses on ecological-community psychology, particularly in accessing community treatments. Dr. Drahota leads the Accessing Community Treatments Lab (ACT Lab), which aims to bridge the gap between research and practice in mental and behavioral health services. The ACT Lab conducts applied research to enhance the delivery of mental health care through partnerships with community agencies. Current projects include the Autism Community Toolkit, designed to assist community-based agencies in implementing evidence-based practices for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Additionally, she is involved in several multidisciplinary collaborations aimed at improving health equity for underserved populations within communities. Her work encompasses dissemination and implementation science, with particular attention to reducing barriers in mental health services for individuals facing challenges related to ASD and other health disparities in Flint, Michigan.
