Biography

Dr. Amy Li Matecki is an Adjunct Clinical Instructor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Stanford Health Care with a focus on integrative medicine, acupuncture, and cancer supportive care. She graduated from Qingdao Medical College in China in 1989 and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Highland Hospital, Alameda Health System, where she also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Matecki pioneered the integration of acupuncture into Western medicine practices and was instrumental in developing hospital privilege policies for licensed acupuncturists. She has been the Medical Director of Integrative Medicine at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center since 2008 and has led acupuncture research projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life for cancer patients. Dr. Matecki has presented her findings at prestigious conferences, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and has published research on acupuncture in critically ill patients. Currently, she serves on the California Acupuncture Board and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Her clinical focus encompasses Internal Medicine, Pain Management, and Women's Health, and her educational background includes a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Academy of Chinese Culture Health Sciences. Dr. Matecki continues to contribute to policy development for hospital-integrated acupuncture practices, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
