Amy M. Nagy began her nursing career in Long-Term Care and transitioned to Oncology/MedSurg in 1995. After earning her RN from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1994, she graduated from Penn State Shenango in 1999. Her teaching career began in 2002 at UPMC Horizon, where she taught numerous courses, including Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. In 2016, she started teaching as adjunct faculty at Penn State Shenango and has continued her education, earning her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2020. Her dissertation focused on work-life balance, which has become a cornerstone of her academic career, exploring strategies to reduce stress and promote well-being among students and healthcare professionals. In 2024, she transitioned to the role of Director of Undergraduate Nursing at Penn State Shenango, where she leads and mentors students while incorporating wellness and work-life balance into the curriculum, shaping future nursing education.
The B.S.N. program is a four-year pre-licensure program. Students must start and remain at the campus of admission for all four years.
