Biography

Amy Pavel is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining UT Austin, she served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University and as a Research Scientist at Apple. Amy obtained her Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction, particularly in designing, building, and evaluating new interactive systems powered by artificial intelligence. Amy has published her work in prestigious venues such as the Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI), the Symposium on User Interface Software and Technology (UIST), and the Conference of the North American Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics (NAACL).
