Biography

Amy Unsworth is a Lecturer in the Natural Sciences programme at University College London, where she joined in 2022. In her role, she leads the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives and focuses on the relationship between science and society. Previously, she served as a Research Fellow in the Department of Science and Technology Studies at UCL. Amy earned her PhD in Biology from UCL, conducting research funded by Cancer Research UK. Additionally, she has experience in science communication from her work with organizations such as the Science Museum and the British Council. Her current research interests include examining public perceptions of science and fostering greater diversity among individuals engaged in scientific fields. Amy teaches modules including Science and Society, Science, and Science Communication, aiming to enhance students' understanding of the role of science in contemporary issues.
