Professor Dr. Ana Capatina Rata

Biography

Dr. Ana Capatina-Rata is an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University in the Department of Medicine. She serves as the Director of the Internal Medicine Clerkship at the Southeast Michigan Campus. Dr. Capatina-Rata completed her medical education at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, followed by an internal medicine residency at Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI, and a fellowship in geriatrics at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. With 14 years of experience as a physician educator, she has held teaching appointments at both Wayne State University and Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. A board-certified specialist in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine, Dr. Capatina-Rata is an active member of various committees at Ascension-Providence Hospital, including the Sepsis Committee and Clinical Competency Committee. She has received multiple awards for her presentations at various professional conferences, including first-place recognitions from the American College of Physicians. Her research interests include women's health and preventative medicine, and she has contributed over 22 published abstracts to national and international scientific meetings and has published three articles in peer-reviewed journals.
