Biography

Professor Ana Lourenco received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University in 1998 and her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 2002. She completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Rhode Island Hospital/The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in 2007 and a fellowship in Women's Imaging at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston in 2008. She holds the position of Professor of Diagnostic Imaging at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and serves as the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program Director. Previously, she was the Breast Imaging Fellowship Director and is a fellow of both the Society of Breast Imaging and the American College of Radiology. Proficient in Portuguese and Spanish, Dr. Lourenco actively contributes to various educational programs and has presented extensively at national meetings, addressing topics ranging from breast cancer screening to imaging techniques. She has received several accolades for her teaching and research efforts, including the Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award from the Alpert Medical School of Brown University in 2014.
