Biography

Ana Namburete is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford and a Tutorial Fellow at Pembroke College. She received her undergraduate degree in BASc Engineering Science supported by a Commonwealth Scholarship. Namburete completed her DPhil in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford under the supervision of Professor Alison Noble. She has held a postdoctoral fellowship funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and secured a Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellowship to establish her independent research group in Oxford's Department of Engineering Science, where she became an Associate Research Fellow at St Hilda's College. In 2021, she joined the Department of Computer Science as a Research Lecturer and established the Oxford Machine Learning in NeuroImaging (OMNI) Lab. As a Tutorial Fellow in Computer Science at Pembroke College, she is tasked with re-introducing the subject as an undergraduate option. Her research interests include Computational Biology, Health Informatics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning, with a focus on advanced fetal brain imaging using MRI-informed ultrasound.
