Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Ana Nunez Nescolarde. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Ana Nunez-Nescolarde is a research associate at the University of Western Australia, based at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. Her research focuses on stem cell biology and nephrology, emphasizing the development of human organoid systems, which are three-dimensional mini-organs in a dish. During her PhD, she utilized human stem cell-derived kidney organoids to model kidney diseases in vitro and developed innovative methods to generate kidney-like organoids directly from adult human cells to replicate mature kidney tissue features. Recently, she joined Professor Ryan Lister’s lab at UWA where she has expanded her expertise in genomics and epigenetics, applying high-resolution techniques to define cell states and bioinformatics to interpret complex multi-omic datasets. Her current research integrates epigenomics, single-cell technologies, and developmental biology to study gene expression dynamics and regulatory mechanisms across various human tissues. By characterizing the epigenetic landscapes and transcriptional profiles of human tissues, Ana aims to enhance the accuracy of stem cell culture models, contributing to a broader understanding of human development and disease.
