Biography

Ana María Peredo is a Full Professor and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Social and Inclusive Entrepreneurship at the Telfer School of Management. Formerly a Professor of Political Ecology at the University of Victoria, she has contributed to understanding how communities can alleviate poverty through sustainable livelihoods while preserving cultural identities. Her interdisciplinary work merges Anthropology and Management with extensive research in the Andes of Peru. Peredo has published significant works on community-based enterprises, Indigenous entrepreneurship, and the solidarity economy in reputable journals such as the Academy of Management Review and Journal of Business Ethics. Additionally, she serves on various academic boards, including as Associate Editor of Organization and Co-Coordinator of the European Group for Organizational Studies’ Working Group on Organization Studies in the Anthropocene. She actively mentors graduate students focusing on alternative economies and social justice.
