Biography

Anamary Maqueira Linares is a feminist political economist specializing in social reproduction within the context of the Global South, particularly Latin America and Cuba. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2024 and has a Master's degree in Development Economics from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences, Ecuador, obtained in 2015, following her Bachelor's in Economics from the University of Havana, Cuba in 2009. Linares has worked as a young instructor for five years, including two and a half years in Quito, Ecuador. Her research interests include heterodox feminist economics, social reproduction, the state, labor, and distribution. Anamary's work aims to enhance understanding of the state’s involvement in social reproduction processes and the unequal implications of distribution costs across various sectors in the Global South. She actively participates in the International Association of Feminist Economics and the Union of Radical Political Economists. Anamary is currently accepting graduate students for both Master's and PhD programs.
