Biography

Anand Padmanabhan is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Iowa and has extensive research interests focused on advanced cyberinfrastructure, geographic information science, cyberGIS, distributed high-performance computing, and geospatial data science. He leads the Spatial Algorithms Systems team at the CyberGIS Center, where he develops and operates cyberGIS capabilities and services that harness advanced cyberinfrastructure for geospatial discovery and innovation. His work has been supported by grants from the U.S. National Science Foundation and the Environmental Protection Agency, and he is known for publishing numerous peer-reviewed papers and authoring cyberGIS software tools.
