Dr. Anant Paravastu

Biography

Anant Paravastu is an Associate Professor in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research focuses on the characterization and design of peptide-based materials using solid-state NMR and structural biology techniques. He explores the self-assembly of peptides, particularly in the context of the Alzheimer's disease-related beta-amyloid peptide. His work also delves into applications in regenerative medicine, developing designer self-assembling peptides that could lead to innovative therapeutic solutions. Paravastu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Over the years, he has contributed significantly to the field of biomaterials and has been recognized as a W. Lloyd Johnson Ann Drake Johnson Faculty Fellow.
