Biography

Anas Atakora holds a PhD in French studies and African francophone literatures. His research focuses on theories of fantasy, image, postcolonial studies, and contemporary African literatures in French. He is a former Killam Fellow and Honorary Fellow at the University of Iowa, where he was a writer-in-residence in the fall of 2015. Atakora specializes in the work of Kossi Efoui, having studied Efoui's theatrical universe for his master's thesis and his novels for his doctorate. In 2019, he co-edited a special issue of Dalhousie French Studies dedicated to the French writer Michel Deguy. His academic contributions span various articles and book collaborations, reflecting his engagement with African francophone literature and culture.
