Biography

Anastasia Muliana is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University. She holds the Linda & Ralph Schmidt ‘68 Professorship and serves as the Faculty Ombudsperson. Her research primarily focuses on the durability of polymers and composites when exposed to harsh environments. She is also involved in nonlinear constitutive modeling and multi-scale analyses of heterogeneous structures. Additionally, Muliana researches flexible and reconfigurable structures and plant biomechanics, utilizing temporal and spatial analyses to tackle multi-field problems. With a strong educational background, she completed her Ph.D. in Structural Engineering Mechanics at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2004, following her M.S. and B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the same institution and Bandung Institute of Technology, respectively. Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards for her academic excellence and contributions to the engineering field.
