Dr. Anastasios Stathis

Biography

Anastasios Stathis is a medical doctor specializing in oncology with a strong focus on the development of new anti-cancer drugs. He graduated from the University of Pavia, Italy, and completed his specialty in medical oncology at the University of Insubria, Varese, Italy. Dr. Stathis has a wealth of experience, having served as a clinical research fellow in new drug development at the Princess Margaret Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada. He has held the position of staff medical oncologist and currently serves as the head of the New Drugs Development Unit at the Oncology Institute of Southern Switzerland (IOSI). His research interests lie primarily in clinical trials aimed at drug development, particularly focusing on phase studies related to lymphomas. Stathis is an active member of several prestigious organizations, including the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). Additionally, he is the Vice-President of the New Anticancer Treatment Project Group within the Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research (SAKK) and serves as a section editor for clinical research in the Critical Reviews in Oncology Hematology journal. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to notable publications in the field of oncology.
