Biography

Anastassios Anastassiadis is an Associate Professor in the Department of History and Classical Studies at McGill University, holding the Phrixos B. Papachristidis Chair in Modern Greek Studies. He led the Immigrec project, emphasizing the oral history of Greek immigration to Canada, and has co-piloted a research project on the Global Civilian History of the Forgotten Army during World War I. He teaches courses on European history, modern Greek culture, and the classical tradition, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of Greece's historical context in relation to the Greek-speaking world and the broader European narrative.
