Anca Ferche is an assistant professor at the Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, a role she has held since 2021. She received her Ph.D. in 2020 and her M.S. in 2015 from the University of Toronto, Canada, and her B.S. in 2012 from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Her research interests are centered around the development and application of simulation techniques that assist in the design and assessment of reinforced concrete structures. Major themes of her research include the analysis and performance assessment of concrete structures, understanding structural implications of deterioration mechanisms, and the behavior of concrete structures using novel materials. Ferche also focuses on the modeling of concrete structures subjected to extreme loading. She teaches courses related to the design and behavior of advanced assessment of concrete structures at both undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to her teaching and research, Ferche is actively engaged with several technical organizations, including the American Concrete Institute (ACI), the International Federation for Structural Concrete (fib), and the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI).
