Dr. Anders Baun

Biography

Anders Baun is a professor and head of the Environmental Contamination and Chemicals section at the Department of Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark. He earned his Master’s in Environmental Engineering in 1994 and completed his Ph.D. in 1998 at the same institution. His research primarily focuses on the environmental risk assessment of nanomaterials, with a strong emphasis on the interaction between chemicals and biological systems. Baun has contributed significantly to over 250 peer-reviewed scientific papers, with more than 130 listed in the ISI database. He has also served as an associate editor for leading environmental journals. In addition to his research, he has been awarded multiple honors, including the DADES Environmental Award and the Statoil Technology Prize, recognizing his contributions to environmental science. Furthermore, he has supervised numerous Ph.D. and M.Sc. students and is actively involved in various national and international research projects. Baun's work aims to address the challenges posed by nanomaterials in environmental contexts and public health, highlighting his commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and innovation in this crucial field.
