Professor Dr. Anders Daugaard

Biography

Anders Egede Daugaard is a Professor at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) specializing in the preparation of functional polymer materials through macromolecular synthesis, controlled free radical processes, and post-polymerization modification methods. He oversees the Nordic Master in Polymer Technology and leads the Polymer study line in the MSc program for Advanced Applied Chemistry. His research interests include the construction of polymer surfaces with tailored properties, development of new composite materials, and characterization of polymer materials and surfaces. Daugaard's significant contributions to the field include collaborations on various projects focused on bioplastic degradability and the synthesis of bio-based polymers. He has a Ph.D. from DTU, where his thesis addressed functional materials and click chemistry. His academic activities also extend to conference presentations and lectures on topics such as ultrafiltration and enzyme immobilization. He has collaborated internationally, including research stays at institutions in the USA and Sweden, contributing to his extensive experience in advanced applications of polymer technology.
