Biography

Anders Hultqvist is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Gothenburg's Academy of Music and Drama, specializing in artistic research that intersects urban-rural sound studies, musical creation, and ecological sound art. His projects encompass a wide array of works, including orchestral compositions, chamber music, sound installations, choral works, musical dramas, and electroacoustic works. Hultqvist actively participates in curating musical and scientific events, taking roles as festival director, conference organizer, and journal editor, showcasing his commitment to advancing artistic dialogue. His innovative work, such as the project 'Conceptual Limits Composition' and 'Shrinking Emptiness', investigates the artistic creation process and its meaning within musical and literary contexts. His ongoing research endeavors explore urban sound environments through interdisciplinary projects like Transmission and Sounding Norrbotten.
