Anders Meibom obtained his PhD in Physics from the University of Southern Denmark in 1997. He conducted a half-year PostDoc at the Hawaii Institute of Geophysics and Planetology, focusing on mineralogical studies of primitive chondritic meteorites. From 2000 to 2005, he was a Research Associate in Geological and Environmental Sciences at Stanford University, where he contributed to mantle geochemistry research. In 2005, he became a professor at the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris and served as the director of the French national NanoSIMS laboratory from 2006 to 2011, where his research concentrated on calcium carbonate biomineralization in corals and marine invertebrates. Meibom joined EPFL in January 2012 as a professor in the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering. He was granted a professor ad personam role at the Institute of Earth Sciences, University of Lausanne in April 2014. His current research includes environmental bio-geo-chemistry, sub-cellular stable isotope imaging, and isotope geochemistry among other fields.
