Biography

Andi Hoxhaj is a Lecturer in Law at King's College London, where he also directs the European Law LLM pathway programme. He has a PhD in Law, an LLM in International Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation from the University of Warwick, and an LLB from London Metropolitan University. Before joining King's College London, he was a Lecturer in Law at University College London and a Fellow at the University of Warwick, where he received 'The Warwick Award for Teaching Excellence' in 2021. Hoxhaj has been recognized as a 'Rising Star' by the British Academy in 2018 and has provided expert evidence to UK Parliament inquiries concerning the Western Balkans and asylum migration issues. In 2024, he was honored with the title of Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to UK-Albanian relations. He has contributed significantly to consultations with NGOs on matters of EU law and transnational organized crime and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on corruption, migration, and rule of law, particularly in relation to the Western Balkans. Hoxhaj's research currently includes a project mapping migration flows from Albania to the UK, particularly focusing on those crossing the English Channel. He has also received funding for his research projects from institutions like the Arts and Humanities Research Council and has authored significant works on EU anti-corruption policies and regional market proposals.
