Dr. Andre Boehman

Biography

Professor André Boehman is a leading researcher in the field of Mechanical Engineering, particularly focused on automotive engineering and energy thermal sciences. He serves as the Vennema Professor of Engineering and directs the W.E. Lay Automotive Laboratory at the University of Michigan. His work encompasses a range of topics including fuel production formulation, alternative fuels, diesel combustion, spark ignition combustion, and spray behavior, with significant contributions to understanding particulate emissions and NOx emissions. An established figure in his domain, Professor Boehman has been recognized multiple times for his contributions to education and research, including being elected as a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Chemical Society. His recent research efforts include enhancing the efficiency of heavy-truck engines and collaborating on hydrogen fuel vehicles.
