Biography

Andre Augusto Cire is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management at the University of Toronto Scarborough, cross-appointed to the Operations Management area of the Rotman School of Management. His research investigates new methodologies to address large-scale, difficult optimization problems arising within organizations. Recently, he has focused on discrete optimization, scheduling problems, and applications for social good, particularly within healthcare. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from Carnegie Mellon University and has previously earned two Master’s degrees in Operations Research and Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and State University of Campinas, Brazil, respectively. His academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree from State University of Campinas, Brazil. Through his work, Andre aims to contribute significantly to areas such as analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, and healthcare management. He endeavors to optimize manufacturing operations and supply chain management practices in modern technology contexts.
