Biography

Andre den Exter received his PhD degree in law in 2002 for his dissertation titled 'Health Care Law-Making in Central Eastern Europe: Review of a Legal-Theoretical Model'. He is currently an Associate Professor of Health Law at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where he lectures on topics related to Dutch International Health Law. His main research interests include Human Rights in Health Care Access, Pharmaceutical Law, Health Insurance Law, European Health Law, and International Treaty Law concerning Health Care. Den Exter is a founding member of the Erasmus Observatory on Health Law and coordinates the Observatory's annual Summer School on Health Law & Ethics. He has been involved in organizing similar educational events in Indonesia and Panama, sponsored by KNAW ERACOL Erasmus Mundus.
