Professor Dr. Andre Kushniruk

Biography

Andre Kushniruk is a Professor in the School of Health Information Science at the University of Victoria. His research spans multiple areas including usability in health information systems, human factors in healthcare, clinical informatics, consumer informatics, and decision support systems. He is recognized internationally for his contributions to the field of health informatics and has published extensively. His work involves developing innovative evaluation methods for information technology and studying human-computer interaction in healthcare contexts. Kushniruk is a key researcher in several national and international collaborative projects aimed at enhancing the design of healthcare systems. He holds a BSc and BA from Brock University, an MSc in Computer Science from McMaster University, and a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from McGill University. Kushniruk has also taught courses related to human-computer interaction, database management, and systems analysis design across various Canadian universities.
