Professor Dr. André Longtin

Biography

André Longtin is a Full Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Ottawa. His research primarily focuses on nonlinear dynamics, stochastic dynamics, and biological physics, with a particular emphasis on theoretical and computational studies of the nervous system. His long-term goal is to understand how neurons, as biological units, can self-organize and perform computations, linking cellular biophysics with the complexity of biological systems. His expertise lies in the fields of theoretical biophysics, nonlinear dynamics, and neural/physiological modeling. He actively contributes to the field of computational neuroscience and neurophysics, investigating the intricate dynamics of biological processes.
