Biography

André Teixeira is an Associate Professor and Deputy Head of the Division of Systems Control at the Department of Information Technology at Uppsala University, Sweden. He received his M.Sc. degree in electrical computer engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Porto, Portugal in 2009, and his Ph.D. in automatic control from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden in 2014. He has served as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Automatic Control at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and worked as an Assistant Professor at Delft University of Technology. His research primarily focuses on cybersecurity and automatic control, with interests that span optimization, machine learning, game theory, and networked systems. He has been recognized with several awards, including the Student-Paper Award at the IEEE Multi-Conference on Systems and Control in 2014 and an Honorable Mention for the Pauk M. Frank Award at IFAC SAFEPROCESS in 2018. In 2019, he received a Starting Grant from the Swedish Research Council and has been appointed a Wallenberg Academy Fellow in 2023. Teixeira is actively involved in coordinating the Cybersecurity Arena Graduate School.
