Professor Dr. Andre Valcanaia

Biography

Andre Valcanaia is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, specializing in the Department of Cariology, Restorative Sciences, and Endodontics. He graduated from the University of Vale of Itajai School of Dentistry in Brazil in 2002. Valcanaia holds several certificates, including in Implant Restorative Dentistry from the Brazilian Dental Association (2003), a Specialist degree in Restorative Cosmetic Dentistry from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2006), and completed the Computerized Dentistry Program at the University of Michigan from 2014 to 2016. Since 2002, he has been actively involved in private practice while also teaching post-graduation courses in Implantology and Prosthodontics. In 2016, he began working at the University of Michigan as a staff dentist and clinical assistant professor, where he has contributed to both laboratory and clinical research focusing on digital dentistry and CAD/CAM materials applied in restorative cosmetic dentistry. Additionally, he maintains a part-time dental practice in Ann Arbor, with a keen focus on restorative and cosmetic digital dentistry utilizing CAD/CAM technologies.
