Biography

Andrea Benvenuti is an Associate Professor in International Relations at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. He completed his undergraduate education in Political Science at the University of Florence, Italy, and earned his Master’s degree from Monash University, Australia, followed by a D.Phil in International Relations from Oxford University, UK. His teaching focuses on twentieth-century international history and diplomacy at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has published significant works including a multi-authored book titled 'China's Foreign Policy: Emergence of a Great Power' in 2022, and his sole-authored upcoming book 'Nehru's Bandung: Non-Alignment and Regional Order in Indian Cold War Strategy' is set for release in 2024. Benvenuti is currently engaged in projects related to the leadership struggles in postcolonial Asia and the influence of Western military power on Asia's strategic ordering from 1919 to 1989.
