Biography

Andrea Knight Dolan brings 20 years of industry and academic experience to the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Information, where she teaches courses in user experience (UX) design, research methods, and human–computer interaction. Her work bridges rigorous research with real-world application, preparing students to design digital products and services that are usable and meaningful. Before joining the iSchool, Andrea worked as a UX researcher and strategist in the technology, health, and consumer sectors, leading projects on topics ranging from online banking and financial well-being to innovative health and wellness tools. She has experience building and launching Google’s 0-to-1 products as a UX researcher and UX manager for 18 years. Andrea is particularly passionate about creative research methods, stakeholder collaboration, and helping students develop practical skills alongside critical thinking. She believes that great UX happens at the intersection of information, technology, and society.
