Biography

Andrea Dooley is a Lecturer at UC Berkeley Law. With substantial experience in arbitration and mediation, she conducts grievance arbitrations, civil service hearings, fact-finding hearings, card checks, and interest arbitrations across California, Nevada, and Alaska. Her expertise spans various sectors including public service, healthcare, education, and labor sectors. She is a member of the National Academy of Arbitrators and has an extensive background in private practice, where she represented unions and trust funds in arbitrations, litigation, collective bargaining, and elections. Before becoming an arbitrator, Andrea worked on management counsel for labor organizations and nonprofits. She has also led labor-management programs and participated in national and interest-based bargaining, and has designed and implemented occupational safety and health programs while advising managers on operational and regulatory issues. Andrea holds a BA, an MA from the University of Chicago, and a JD from the Chicago-Kent College of Law. She is scheduled to teach law courses in Spring 2026.
