Andrea Gasparotto is a Research Fellow in Physical Geography with a research focus on understanding geomorphic systems and their responses to natural and anthropogenic stresses. His particular interest lies in developing and applying morphodynamic models to assess the external pressures influencing the evolution of riverine settings and coastal transitional zones. Currently, he is involved in the NERC funded grant (EVOFLOOD) which explores the feedback mechanisms between climate change and river channel evolution and how these modifications may alter flood hazard risk. His current research spans a range of riverine and coastal processes and hazards, utilizing morphodynamic models alongside in-field data collection to actively study the natural and anthropogenic drivers that lead to geomorphological modifications in rivers and tidal areas.
