Dr. Andrea Grech La Rosa

Biography

Andrea Grech La Rosa is a Teaching Lecturer in Engineering Design at University College London. With an enthusiastic approach to practical elements of teaching, Andrea focuses on creating necessary equipment to facilitate a circular economy. Additionally, Andrea serves as the module coordinator for Design Professional Skills II, which is a fourth-year capstone project. Andrea's past responsibilities have included managing UCL's towing tank, which supports numerous courses including ship and submarine design exercises. Andrea has finalized her PhD studies at UCL, which explored the design and use of bulbous bows as an energy-saving device. Her research interests encompass Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), experimental testing, data analysis, and sustainability. Beyond her research activities, Andrea has collaborated on projects and experiments with industry stakeholders, utilizing her practical engineering skill set. She has also achieved engineering chartership status and is a member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA).
