Dr. Andrea Guerin

Biography

Dr. Andrea Guerin is a Medical Geneticist and Associate Professor at Queen's University, specializing in medical education and health systems leadership. She received her Bachelor of Science with Honours from the University of Toronto in 2004, followed by her MD from the University of Western Ontario in 2008. Dr. Guerin attained Royal College certification in Medical Genetics & Genomics in 2014, and obtained her Master's in Education from Queen's University in 2022. Her formal training includes certificates in medical education from Harvard University, Indigenous health from the University of Alberta, and artificial intelligence in healthcare from Queen's University. Dr. Guerin has held multiple leadership roles, including Head of the Division of Medical Genetics at Queen's University, and is currently the Quality Lead for Ontario Health's Provincial Genetics Program. As Assistant Dean of the Curriculum for the MD program at Queen's, she is committed to improving medical education. She has received numerous grants for her research in medical education and health services, focusing on curriculum development and genetic service delivery. Additionally, she has collaborated on national initiatives related to genomic testing and clinical utility.
