Biography

Andrea Hinton, PharmD, FCSHP, is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of the Pacific. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from California State University, Long Beach, and a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of California, San Francisco. In 2000, she completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center. Dr. Hinton has been an active member of the Central Valley chapter of the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists (CSHP) since 2000, where she has held several leadership roles including chapter president, industry relations chair, community service coordinator, delegate, secretary, and public relations chair. She is also a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. In 2015, Dr. Hinton was recognized by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy as a Master Preceptor for her dedication to experiential education. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes self-directed learning and professionalism. Dr. Hinton’s current research focus is on medication safety in acute care settings, particularly concerning adult acute care. She is involved in various academic courses including Internal Medicine APPE and Capstone courses.
