Biography

Andrea Hinton is a board-certified dermatologist and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at Stanford University School of Medicine. She provides care at Stanford Health Care Dermatology Clinics located in Castro Valley, Livermore, and Redwood City. Dr. Hinton diagnoses and treats a wide range of general dermatologic skin conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancer. She also performs dermatologic surgery and has a particular interest in hair loss restoration and the treatment of both scarring and non-scarring alopecia, including chemotherapy-induced alopecia. Her research interests include the cutaneous side effects of oncologic treatment, chemotherapy-induced alopecia, and digital health, particularly in relation to patient access. Before her medical training, Dr. Hinton researched state public insurance models and health disparities. She has published her research in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: Practice and JAMA Dermatology, and has presented at national and regional meetings, including the New England Dermatological Society Clinical Meeting.
