Since January 1, 2024, Andrea Hofmann has been a Professor of Church and Theology History at the Faculty of Theology in Basel. After studying Protestant Theology and Musicology in Heidelberg and Salzburg, she obtained her doctorate in 2013 at Heidelberg. Subsequently, she worked as a research assistant at the Leibniz Institute for European History in Mainz and at the Faculty of Theology at Humboldt University of Berlin from 2013 to 2022. Funded by the DFG, she spent a research stay in Strasbourg (2018/19). In 2022, she habilitated with a thesis on sermons from the First World War at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. During the summer semester of 2022, she represented the Chair of Modern Church History at the Faculty of Theology of HU Berlin and then was a Junior Fellow at the Alfried Krupp Science College in Greifswald until the end of September 2023. In the fall of 2023, she took up a scholarship at the Herzog-August-Bibliothek in Wolfenbüttel.
