Biography

Andrea Ippolito currently serves as a lecturer in the Engineering Management Program at Cornell University. Prior to joining Cornell, Andrea was the Director of the Department of Veterans Affairs Innovators Network within the VA Center for Innovation, where she designed and oversaw the creation of a $10.5 million program that provides tools and resources for VA employees to develop innovations that improve the experience of veterans. She also completed a role as a Presidential Innovation Fellow, representing the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy for the General Services Administration. Andrea pursued doctoral studies in the Engineering Systems Division at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and co-founded an innovative application called Smart Scheduling, which improves access to care and was acquired by athenahealth in 2016. Her previous roles include Co-Director of MIT Hacking Medicine, Innovation Specialist at Brigham Innovation Hub, and Product Innovation Manager at athenahealth. Andrea holds a Master of Science in Engineering and Management from MIT and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering from Cornell University, where she also completed a minor in Biomedical Engineering.
