Professor Andrea Lista holds a LL.D from Italy, an LL.M from the University of Southampton, and a PhD from the University of London. He has lectured for many years at Southampton, London, and Exeter, and has taught professional courses for lawyers and judges at both national and international levels. In the past, he acted as a legal consultant for the European Commission and European Parliament, and has served as an expert witness in the Houses of Parliament. Prior to rejoining the University of Southampton, he was a Lecturer at Queen Mary College, University of London, and an Associate Professor at the University of Southampton. He also chaired the Commercial Law program at the University of Exeter, where he led the Law School's REF 2021 and was the Director of Research. Throughout his academic career, Professor Lista has been actively involved in PhD supervision, having supervised 16 PhD students to completion and examined numerous PhD vivas as both an external and internal examiner. In recognition of his teaching excellence, he received the 'ETA Excellence in Teaching Award' for Overall Outstanding Lecturer from the School of Law at the University of Southampton, as well as the 'Vice Chancellor's Teaching Award for Excellence in Teaching' from the University of Exeter, where he was also commended for his teaching excellence from 2015 to 2020.
