Dr. Andrea Mennicken

Biography

Andrea Mennicken is a Professor at King's Business School at King's College London, specializing in Management Organisation with a focus on public sector organization reform. Her research emphasizes accounting reforms, failure regimes, risk management regulation, processes of marketization, and valuation quantification. Andrea teaches a Master's module in Risk and Crisis Management in Organizations and Society, and supervises the undergraduate Capstone course at King's Business School. Her research employs qualitative methods, including semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and observation, and has been conducted in various settings such as prisons, hospitals, and social care organizations. Currently, she is leading an ESRC-funded international research project investigating changes in research evaluation practices in the digital age. Andrea has published extensively in leading accounting and management journals such as Accounting, Organizations and Society, and Organization Studies, and has co-edited significant volumes in the field. She has served as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the journal Accounting, Organizations and Society and is a member of the Executive Council of the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics. Previously, she was an Associate Professor in Accounting at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where she co-directed the Centre for Analysis of Risk and Regulation.
