Dr. Andrea Olive

Biography

Andrea Olive is a Professor at the University of Toronto Mississauga, with cross-appointments in the Department of Political Science and the Department of Geography. Her primary research and teaching interests focus on environmental policy, particularly in the areas of wildlife conservation in Canada and the United States. Olive's key areas of work include Conservation Policy, where she studies related policies, examining their effectiveness, and Transboundary Environmental Governance, particularly how environmental governance is managed across national borders. Her research also addresses Biodiversity Loss and Species Risk, tackling the challenges and strategies necessary to mitigate biodiversity loss and protect at-risk species. She has authored books and numerous articles on these topics, significantly contributing to the fields of environmental policy and conservation.
