Dr. Andrea Sainz Bear

Biography

Andrea Sainz Bear is a PhD student in the Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics Department at the University of Cambridge, specializing in image analysis regarding Computed Tomography (CT). Her research primarily focuses on studying extreme low-dose CT reconstruction through machine learning methodologies. She demonstrates a keen interest at the intersection of applied mathematics, artificial intelligence, and medical imaging. Prior to her doctoral studies, Andrea completed an MPhil in Data Intensive Science at the University of Cambridge and holds a Double Degree in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Cantabria, Spain. Andrea also gained professional experience as a Junior Data Scientist at Lis Data Solutions, where she contributed to projects involving data-driven solutions.
