Andrea Stenke joined the group of Inorganic Environmental Geochemistry at ETH's Institute of Biogeochemistry and Pollutant Dynamics (IBP) in 2021. She was born in 1976 in Munich, Germany, and studied meteorology at the University of Munich. In 2006, she received her PhD in the field of chemistry-climate modelling, focusing on stratospheric water vapour. After completing her PhD, she undertook post-doctoral research at the DLR Institute of Atmospheric Physics in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, before moving to ETH in 2009. At ETH, she started post-doctoral work in the Atmospheric Chemistry group at the Institute of Atmospheric and Climate Science, eventually becoming the leader of the chemistry-climate modelling group. In 2009, she became a member of the editorial board of Geoscientific Model Development, an international scientific journal of the European Geosciences Union. From 2013 to 2019, she lectured on the Stratospheric Chemistry course at the IAC. In 2019, she enrolled in ETH's DAS Applied Statistics program, successfully completing it in 2021.
