Biography

Andrea Tapia is the Dean and Professor at the College of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University. She oversees aspects of the college's pursuit of excellence in information technology education and research while managing initiatives to attract students, faculty, and staff while supporting their development. Tapia has a strong ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within the college, alongside stewardship of its financial resources. As an international scholar in crisis informatics, she examines how information technology impacts social, cultural, political, economic, and organizational structures.
