Biography

Andreas Brännström is a postdoctoral fellow based at Umeå University, where he focuses on research in formal neuro-symbolic methods and trustworthy, human-centered artificial intelligence (AI). His work encompasses both theoretical and applied research, particularly in the verification of interactive systems and intelligent decision-support mechanisms. Brännström employs a variety of techniques in his research, including Answer Set Programming (ASP), Formal Argumentation, and Description Logic (DL). His contributions aim to advance the field of knowledge representation and reasoning, emphasizing the development of reliable and effective AI systems that can support decision-making in real-world scenarios. He is actively involved in the Agents Reasoning Group and the Formal Methods Trustworthy Hybrid Intelligence initiative at Umeå University, demonstrating a strong commitment to responsible AI practices.
