Andreas Burg was born in Munich, Germany, in 1975. He received his Dipl.-Ing. degree in 2000 from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, where he later completed his doctoral studies, obtaining a Dr. sc. techn. degree in 2006. During his career, he has worked with Siemens Semiconductors in San Jose, CA, and has interned at Bell Labs Wireless Research. Following his PhD, he held postdoctoral researcher positions at the Integrated Systems Laboratory and the Communication Theory Group at ETH Zurich. In 2007, he co-founded Celestrius, an ETH spinoff in the field of MIMO wireless communication, where he was responsible for ASIC development. He joined EPFL in January 2011 as a Tenure Track Assistant Professor and was promoted to Tenured Associate Professor in June 2018, currently leading the Telecommunications Circuits Laboratory in the School of Engineering. His significant contributions to ASIC development include over 25 implementations. He is a member of IEEE and the European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP).
