Biography

Andreas Gerstlauer is a Professor and holder of the Cullen Trust Higher Education Endowed Professorship in the Chandra Family Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. He specializes in embedded systems and cyber-physical systems with a particular focus on electronic system-level design methods, system modeling, and design methodologies. He obtained his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany in 1997 and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Information and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine in 1998 and 2004, respectively. Before joining UT Austin in 2008, he worked as an Assistant Researcher at the Center for Embedded Computer Systems at UC Irvine, where he developed electronic system-level design tools. He has been recognized for his contributions with several awards including the Outstanding Paper Award at the 2023 Euromicro Conference on Real-Time Systems. Gerstlauer is heavily involved in the academic community, having served in various roles such as General Co-Chair of ESWEEK and Technical Program Chair of SAMOS. He has published over 150 articles across conferences and journals, contributed to major research fields such as Architecture and Computer Systems, and currently serves as a Special Issue Editor for the ACM TECS journal.
