Biography

Andreas Jossen is a full professor at the Technical University of Munich, holding a professorship in Energy Storage Technology. He has dedicated much of his academic career to exploring electrochemical energy storage systems for stationary, mobile, and portable applications, with a particular interest in the characterization, modeling, and operating strategies of storage systems, as well as battery management issues. Jossen earned his degree in electrical engineering from the University of Stuttgart, where he also served as a research fellow at the Chair of Theory Electrical Engineering. Prior to his appointment as a full professor at TUM, he worked at the Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research in Ulm since 2010, where he headed the workgroup focused on battery system technology. His current research interests include not only the theoretical aspects of energy storage but also practical applications in various contexts including photovoltaic systems and different battery technologies.
